The easy and effortless mood of their home state of California often inspires their sultry yet light and dance-friendly silhouettes. The sisters personally hand source all of the dreamy unique lace, airy silk crepe de chine, and delicate embroidery details that earn Tara Lauren it’s distinct bohème luxe style. Taking the charm of inherent femininity, juxtaposed with the mystique and boldness of the alternative bride, Tara Lauren designs a collection for the bride that is equally romantic as she is dynamic.”

Q1: Where are you based?

A: We are based in our sunny hometown in Orange County, California.

Q2: What’s your inspo when you design?

A: We are open to inspiration wherever we might find it in life, but most often we find it in our travels, from our love of fashion history, from fabric sourcing, even from the style and vivacity of our own brides.

Q3: Tell us a little bit more about you and your background.

A: We are a sister duo team with a long history in the bridal industry. We grew up working in our Mom's bridal salon, and were exposed to many aspects of the bridal industry at an early age. We learned so much from our Mom and still learn from her today. We both felt we had a creative vision we wanted to bring to the bridal industry and decided to start Tara Lauren.

Q4: What’s your favorite dress from your collection?

A: It's so hard to pick favorites as we truly design pieces that we love. But Tara especially loves the Astor Gown, and Shaina has a soft spot for the Court Gown.

Q5: Describe the “Tara Lauren” bride.

A: Tara Lauren embodies an elevated romantic aesthetic designed with an admiration for the spirited confidence of today’s adventurous modern bride. The TL bride evokes the beauty of effortless yet luxe style, as well as bold femininity. She is equally romantic as she is dynamic.

Q6: What made you choose bridal? What brought you to designing?

A: Growing up in bridal showed us how exciting the world of bridal can be, and how special it feels to create someone's dream wedding gown. We both have always been more creatively inclined so we decided to explore the design side of the industry. Tara went on to study fashion design with an emphasis in bridal and evening wear at FIT in New York, while Shaina went on to continue working in bridal styling as well as celebrity fashion styling. We realized we had our own unique perspective we wanted to bring to the bridal world.

Q7: Anything else our brides should know about you?

A: We put everything into designing each collection from sourcing all of the fabric and lace by hand, meticulously reviewing fit, and ensuring each gown is impactful. We are a small design house and are dedicated to making every decision thoughtful and intentional, and to prioritize the best for our brides.

Q8: What’s your best shopping advice for brides?

A: So many things we could say! But one of the best things you can do for yourself is to keep your dress shopping party as small as possible. It can be overwhelming to find your wedding dress, and too often it can exacerbate the stress and confusion when you're fielding too many opinions. Keeping a clear head can help you listen to your gut.

Bonus Question: Is it possible to get the secret why the brand is named, “Tara Lauren”?

A: We named the brand after Tara, Lauren is her middle name.
